E.M. Kolassa, MBA, PhD – CEO

Mick is recognized internationally as the leading expert
on pharmaceutical pricing and value-based strategies.
At MME, Mick provides strategic direction for the firm
and its clients. He focuses his efforts on developing
value-based strategies and formulating solutions to
the unique problems faced by clients. His many years
of work and research in the marketing and management
of pharmaceuticals provide the historical perspective
and the hands-on experience MME’s clients need
and desire. Mick has also served as a litigation consultant
and expert witness in cases related to pharmaceutical
marketing.
Mick holds academic appointments as Adjunct Professor
of Pharmacy Administration in the School of Pharmacy
and Adjunct Professor of Pharmaceutical Business at
the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He is
also editor of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Marketing
& Management, author of several articles and book
chapters on pharmaceutical marketing and pricing issues,
and coauthor of the book Pharmaceutical Marketing: Principles,
Environment, and Practice. Dr. Kolassa’s first
book, Elements of Pharmaceutical Pricing, is the only
management-oriented book available on that topic.
Prior to forming MME, Mick was Associate Professor
of Pharmacy Administration and Associate Professor of
Marketing at the University of Mississippi. He previously
served as Director of Pricing and Economic Policy at
Sandoz, where he created and instituted that company’s
first pricing and health economics departments, and
also held positions at The Upjohn Company, the Strategic
Pricing Group, and Hastings Healthcare. Mick holds an
MBA from Eastern Washington University and a PhD from
the University of Mississippi.
